Play Style, Play Symbols and determining a Valid Winning Play for Uno

A Play Number is allocated to each Play, which can be found at the foot of the Game Play Window.

At the start of a Play the Player is presented with a Game Play Window displaying an instruction at the top: 'Pick a card. Match it with the colour, number or symbol of the previous card to win the prize shown between those 2 cards.' Below the instruction is a play area displaying: a) 1 revealed Uno card (the "Start Card"); b) a small yellow arrow to the right of the Start Card (the "Progress Indicator"); c) 4 blank spaces with Uno embossed onto the background (the "Blank Space" area); d) 4 PRIZE motifs, the first motif is positioned beneath the Start Card and slightly beneath the first Blank Space and the subsequent 3 motifs are positioned between the remaining Blank Spaces; and e) 6 Unrevealed Uno cards at the bottom of the screen (the "Unrevealed Cards" area).

To start a Play the Player must use his mouse to position his cursor on 1 of the Unrevealed Cards and click. The card will enlarge and display in the centre of the Game Play Window, then flip over to reveal a combination of colour and number or colour and symbol. Once the Unrevealed Card has flipped over and revealed its colour and number or colour and symbol, it will automatically slot into the first available Blank Space. The Player must match the colour, number or symbol on their selected card (the "Selected Card") to the colour, number or symbol displayed on the Start Card to win the prize beneath the Selected Card and the Start Card.

If the colour, number or symbols on the Selected Card and the Start Card do match, a white highlight will appear around the borders of the matching cards.

Any Unselected Cards will pulse when left inactive for several seconds or longer. This is to draw the Player's eye and prompt them to continue clicking on the Unselected Cards. The Progress Indicator arrow will also move to the right of the last Selected Card in the Blank Space area to show that that is the next card to match to. Once 4 Unselected Cards have been selected and have populated the Blank Space area, the PRIZE motifs will then pulse in a similar way to prompt the Player to click.

To continue the Player must use his mouse to position his cursor over a second Unrevealed Card and click. Again, the Unrevealed Card will enlarge and display in the centre of the Game Play Window, then flip over to reveal a combination of colour and number or colour and symbol. Once the Selected Card has flipped over and revealed its colour and number or colour and symbol, it will automatically slot into the next available Blank Space. The Player must then match the colour, number or symbol on their latest Selected Card to the colour, number or symbol of the previous Selected Card.

The game play continues in this way until the Player has selected 4 out of the 6 Unrevealed Cards and filled all of the Blank Spaces in the Blank Space area.

The Player must also click on each of the 4 PRIZE motifs to reveal a monetary amount. If the PRIZE motif sits below two matching cards, the white highlight will also appear around the PRIZE motif border and the monetary amount will change to yellow to show the Player has won this amount.

The Player can choose to reveal the PRIZE motifs in any order and they can be revealed before any Unrevealed Cards are selected to populate the Blank Spaces.

When the Player's Play ends, a message will appear in the Game Play Window informing the Player of the Prize he has won, if any.

The Player of a Play of this game having matched colours, numbers or symbols in two adjacent Selected Cards, or the Start Card and the adjacent Selected Card shall, subject to the rules, be entitled to the monetary amount revealed under the word 'PRIZE' displayed directly below the 2 matching cards.
