Ghostville scratch card

Ghostville scratch card at National Lottery

At the start of a Play the Player is presented with a Game Play Window containing the Ghostville game board (the "Board"). The Board represents the female character's route around the Board and has squares along the route, together with a starting point indicated by the female character playing piece towards the right of the Game Play Window. A square may contain a Toad (a "Toad Square") or a Ghost (a "Ghost Square"), or be designated a "Mini Game Square" or a "Haunted House Square". The Mini Game squares are indicated by the words 'MINI GAME'. The Haunted House Squares are indicated by a pathway linking the square to a Haunted House. To the left of the Board is a) a table with 7 rows of items with between 2 and 8 items in a row, together with a monetary amount to the right of each row (the "Eerie Items Table"); b) a table with a row of 3 ghosts, together with a monetary amount to the right of the row (the "Ghost Prize Table"); c) a table with a row of 3 toads, together with a monetary amount to the right of the row (the "Toad Prize Table"); and d) a box with the word "INSTANT WINS" and a monetary amount of "£0" in it (the "Instant Wins Table"). At the bottom right of the Board is a spider web displaying a wheel with 12 segments; each segment is numbered in order from 1 through to 6 with a red arrow at the top of the wheel (the "Step Wheel"). The words '9 SPINS' are displayed in the centre of the board (the "Spins Left Indicator").
To commence a Play and move the playing piece, the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over the Spins Left Indicator and click. The Step Wheel will rotate momentarily and will stop with the red arrow pointing towards a numbered segment. The playing piece on the Board will automatically move the number of squares indicated by the red arrow on the Step Wheel. A Player initially has 9 spins with which to move around the Board. While the playing piece is moving around the Board, the Spins Left Indicator will indicate how many spins remain in that Play. The Player should then position his mouse over the Spins Left Indicator, and click to continue Play.
The consequences of the Player's playing piece landing on a particular square are detailed below.
1) If the Player's playing piece lands on a Haunted House Square, the square will change in colour to red and the playing piece will move along the pathway to the Haunted House and knock on either the door or window. An Eerie Item motif will then appear and the corresponding Eerie Item motif in the Eerie Items Table will be highlighted. The Haunted House Square will remain red until the Player clicks on the Spins Left Indicator to spin again and continue the Play. The Eerie Item motif that appeared from the Haunted House will remain on the Haunted House Square. If the Player collects all of the Eerie Item motifs in a row in the Eerie Items Table, the Eerie Items motifs and the prize amount in the Eerie Items Table will flash to indicate that the Player has won the prize for that row.
2) If the Player's playing piece lands on a Ghost Square, the square will change in colour to red and the Ghost will move momentarily. A Ghost motif will be displayed and highlighted briefly in the Ghost Prize Table. If the Player's playing piece lands on three Ghost Squares and collects all three Ghosts in the Ghost Prize Table, the Ghost motifs in the Ghost Prize Table and the prize amount will flash to indicate that the Player has won £25.
3) If the Player's playing piece lands on a Toad Square, the square will change in colour to red and the Toad will hop momentarily. A Toad motif will be displayed and highlighted briefly in the Toad Prize Table. If the Player's playing piece lands on three Toad Squares and collects all three Toads in the Toad Prize Table, the Toad motifs in the Toad Prize Table and the prize amount will flash to indicate that the Player has won £5.
4) If the Player's playing piece lands on a Mini Game square, one of 3 Mini Games will be displayed in the Game Play Window; Mini Game 1 "Witches Cauldrons"; Mini Game 2 "Witches Broomsticks" or Mini Game 3 "Spider Webs".
a) Mini Game 1. "Witches Cauldrons"
The Player is presented with three Cauldrons and the instruction "Click 1 cauldron to spell out what will happen to you!". To play the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over any one of the Cauldrons and click. An instruction will appear informing the Player of the outcome of the Mini Game. If the outcome is an extra spin, an instruction will inform the Player that he has won an extra spin. To complete the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. When the Player does so, the free spin will be added to the Spins Left Indicator and the words 'EXTRA SPIN' will be displayed on the Mini Game square.
If the outcome of the Mini Game is to move the playing piece back a number of squares, an instruction will inform the Player of the number of spaces backwards his playing piece will be moved around the Board. To complete the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. When the Player does so, the playing piece will automatically move the appropriate number of spaces backwards around the Board (the words 'MOVE BACK' will be displayed on the Mini Game square).
If the Player reveals an Instant Win, an instruction will inform the Player of the monetary amount he has won. To complete the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. Once the Player has done so, the monetary prize amount will appear in the Instant Wins table and on the Mini Game square.
b) Mini Game 2. "Witches Broomsticks"
The Player is presented with four broomsticks and the instruction: "Click 3 of the 4 brooms to reveal cash amounts. Match 3 like amounts to win one of those amounts." To play the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over three broomsticks, one at a time, and click. This can be done in any order the Player chooses. If the outcome of the Mini Game is 3 matching amounts, then an instruction will inform the Player that he has won the monetary amount displayed. To complete the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. Once the Player has done so, the monetary prize amount won will be displayed in the Instant Wins table and on the Mini Game square.
If the outcome of the Mini Game is anything other than 3 matching amounts the Player will be presented with the instruction "Bad luck you didn't match 3 like amounts". To complete the Mini Game and return to the Board the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. The words "NO WIN" will be displayed on the Mini Game square.
c) Mini Game 3. "Spider Webs"
The Player is presented with 3 rows; in each row there are two spider web motifs and the instruction: "Choose 2 of the 3 ROWS to play. Find more spiders in YOUR web than THEIR web to win the prize for that row". The Player should position his cursor over each of the spider web motifs in the rows they have chosen and click to reveal the number of spiders in "YOUR WEB" and the number of spiders in "THEIR WEB".
In a row, if the number of spiders in "YOUR WEB" is greater than the number of spiders in "THEIR WEB", the Player will win the Eerie item motif that appears to the right of that row. To complete the Mini Game the Player should use his mouse to position his cursor over "CONTINUE" and click. Once the Player has done so, the corresponding Eerie item motif(s) in the Eerie Items Prize Table will be highlighted and the number of symbols awarded will be displayed on the Mini Game square.
In a row if the number of spiders in "YOUR WEB" is less than the number of spiders in "THEIR WEB", the Player will be presented with the instruction "Bad luck". To finish the Mini Game and return to the Board, the Player should move his cursor over the word "CONTINUE" and click. The words "NO WIN" will be displayed on the Mini Game square.
A Player's Play ends when he has exhausted all his spins. A message will appear in the centre of the Game Play Window informing the Player of the total amount he has won if any (including any Instant Win amounts in respect of the Instant Wins table and any amounts won in respect of the Ghost Prize table, and/or the Toad Prize table, and/or the Eerie Items table) and detailing that he must "click 'CONTINUE' to finish the game"
